Mont Blanc Tramway
This railway is the highest in France. Throughout the voyage, peaks and
valleys unfold for your delight - the Contamines valley, Aiguille du Gouter,
Aiguilles Rouges, Aiguille du Midi. Today, the Mont Blanc Tramway is one of the
last rack & pinion trains in France although the locomotives are no longer steam
powered. In winter it takes you to the Bellevue/ Prarion ski area at 1800m, a
pleasurable picturesque journey and exceptional panorama. In summer, the Tramway
takes you to the foot of the Bionnassay Glacier, the Nid d'Aigle, at an altitude
of 2372 metres. From here experienced mountaineers can climb to the Tête Rousse
and Goûter mountain huts, and the Mont Blanc.

contemplate a unique panoramic view over the Mont Blanc and the Alps. The views

Chamonix - Montenvers Railway
Explore the Mer de Glace in its wintery or summery finery at the foot of the
Drus, la Verte and Les Grandes Jorasses peak. From the arrival station, you can
visit the crystal gallery, the alpine fauna exhibition and the ice grotto.
Trip To Annecy
Try a trip to the Annecy and visit one of the most beautiful lakes of Europe.
The old town is a must for shops, restaurants and historic entertainment also
known as the Venice of the Alps.
Trip To Italy
Try a trip to the Aoste Valley, through the Mont Blanc tunnel. There are
specific market days where you can pick up the local specialities at a very
reasonable price.
Trip To Switzerland
A popular daytrip is a scenic train ride over the border to Switzerland with
the Mont Blanc Express from Chamonix to Martigny, which you can catch at Le Fayet.
Once in Martigny visit The Pierre Gianadda Foundation. Another popular stop on the Chamonix - Martigny line
is the little Swiss village of Chatelard. From here the steep Chatelard
Funicular takes visitors up to the Emosson dam and lake. In the Haute-Savoie
(this alpine region) do not miss the colourful weekly markets and their range of
local produce.
